Dr13 was a heavy diesel locomotive designed and built by Alsthom for Finnish State Railway. Even though early models couldn't withstand the freezing climate in Finland, the locomotive became VR's workhorse, used both for passenger and freight service. The series retired in in 2000, after nearly 40 years of active service. It is still the most powerful and the fastest diesel locomotive ever used by VR.
